I teach nutrition and wellness.

2. How was your first week at LN?/ What was your best moment in the last week?

I think [schools are] really all the same because you create your own environment in your classroom. As a teacher you establish those relations with your students, and each classroom shouldn’t be different if you meet those expectations.

3. What are you looking forward to throughout this year, and what was your best moment from your past years teaching?

What I’m looking forward to this year is being back in Lawrence, being back home. I grew up at LC. I’m an LC grad. Just being active, and continuing to be active in my community. My best moments teaching have been building the everlasting relationships with students, and that I continue to grow.

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN. If you’re not involved in anything, what do you plan to get involved in?

3. What are you most looking forward to this year?

Getting to know Lawrence North faculty, students, parents, and everyone from the community. It seems like it’s one gigantic school in many ways because there are so many people that overlap and know each other but I’m getting used to new names and faces and who is who and what is what. I have worked in the township. This will be my 8th school year working in Lawrence Township and I guess knowing things is one thing but being here is totally different and having to know for example who to call if a kid needs to go to the clinic or who runs the bookstore. I know all of that from my other school but I don’t know that about here, but I will just give me a few months.

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN, and what would you like to get involved in in the future?

I am a golf coach, an assistant golf coach. We are rocking and rolling right now so that has been really fun. Another thing too that I have been a part of is the Lawrence education association but that’s across the whole district, that’s the union for the teachers. I have coached speech and debate before but I know you have a speech and debate coach here who wins awards and is really really good. I would email her last year and ask for help. I have also had a Spanish club before but i don’t know if there is a Spanish club here. I have taken kids to the annual Spanish competition from Lawrence Central. We always place and bring trophies home.
