Julie Hunter

1. What classes do you teach?

I teach AP Lang and Comp. I teach English 12 and English 11 Honors.

2. How was your first week at LN?/ What was your best moment in the last week?

It has been great students are wonderful and teachers are great. I have a saying when I need to get students attention called “reel it on in”, and my English 11 honors class had a great time with that, so they made that really fun.

3. What are you most looking forward to this year?

I am looking forward to getting to know my students and being apart of the LN community.

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN, and what would you like to get involved in in the future?

“I have two young ones, so I spend a lot of time with them, but for extracurriculars I love dance, cheer, and I love theatre so anything that’s really related to performance.

 Nakeisha Washington

1. What classes do you teach? 

 Intergrated Chemistry & Physics , also known as ICP

2. How was your first week at LN?/ What was your best moment in the last week? 

It was really great. The teachers were very helpful, and the students were great .

3. What are you most looking forward to this year? 

 For students to really enjoy coming to science class to use there critical thinking skills and to be problem solvers .

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN, and what would you like to get involved in in the future? 

Right now I’m not involved in anything , but i would love to do anything girl related especially science related .

Elliot Hersberger-Gray

1. What classes do you teach?

 I teach 6 blocks of Core 40 Chemistry.

2. How was your first week at LN?/ What was your best moment in the last week?

 It was good. The kids are really responsive to a new teacher, welcoming, they’re helpful as well.

3. What are you most looking forward to this year?

I think I’m looking forward to building relationships with students, hopefully creating passion for science and chemistry in them and just seeing what being apart of the family of Lawrence North is about.

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN, and what would you like to get involved in in the future?

So I coached cross country and I taught for five years previous in Colorado, so I coached cross country for six seasons. So I’d love to coach some sport that involves long-distance running eventually and really anything the students are interested in that I could help them in, so I’ve been to a chess club actually, I grew up playing chess a bit. And yeah, anything else that students are interested in. But going to games, of course. Sports activities and performing arts as well.

Sydney Romines

1. What do you teach at LN, and how long have you been teaching?

I teach Algebra I daily, Algebra I and Finite.

2. How was your first week at LN?/ What was your best moment in the last week?

My first week was great. I mean, it’s a little crazy coming in mid-year but overall, I love my classes. My students have been great and we’ve had lots of fun so far. My best moment- I’ve already had a couple students tell me that I’m their favorite teacher and then I had a student tell me that my class seems promising and that made me feel pretty good.

3. What are you looking forward to throughout this year?

I’m just looking forward to starting my teaching career. This is my first ever time teaching full-time here so I’m excited to start my career. I’m excited to learn new ways to teach content and I’m excited to be back with high schoolers.

4. Other than teaching, what are you involved in at LN. If you’re not involved in anything, what do you plan to get involved in? 

I think I would enjoy getting involved with maybe tennis in the future, I loved playing tennis in high school myself. I’m also really big into service so maybe a service club of some sort would be good for me.
