After 11-12 inches of snow impacted the Lawrence Township area, Lawrence township schools decided to hold an e-Learning day for the entire school district on Monday, Jan. 26. On that same day however, staff and parents received phone calls and emails from the school district stating that they will hold another e-Learning day and will have no on-site instruction on either Tuesday, Jan. 27 or Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Many students enjoy these e-Learning days.
“I enjoy them because I’m more comfortable in my home space and it’s faster for me to do my work without distractions,” sophomore Tariah Taylor said.
Many students take these days to enjoy themselves in the snow either by shoveling it, playing in it, making snow angels. A lot of other students enjoy the day by staying inside and working on their school assignments.
“I enjoy e-Learning days because it takes a more calm and relaxing pace that also allows me to be in my own rhythm during class time, also allowing me to not rush assignments due to limited class time as I would do at school,” junior Rigoberto Lugo said.
As on-site instruction was cancelled, many students appreciated the ability to work at their own pace. For some students, e-Learning created a calmer and more productive learning environment as they were able to be in their own homes without the stress of bells or rushing to get assignments completed in time. The two days students had to work from home reminded students how to adapt to home learning, similar to what they did back in 2020.
