The new student voices

On May 3, the new class officers were announced over the intercom during the last period of the day. This announcement brought about a new dynasty of leaders that will be the voices of the Lawrence North student body next year. Leading next year’s student body class will be Junior Natalie Beyfuss. Beyfuss has the desire to communicate with advisors and fellow classmates in order to plan events and be the voice of the students here at Lawrence North.
“My plan is to assist the other officers in helping to create a productive and fun year for everyone at LN. I want to try to bring more student pride and excitement for the school,” Beyfuss said.
Freshman Delaney Hendrickson will be Vice President for the sophomore class next year. His main goal for the upcoming school year is to create a fun atmosphere where students can feel comfortable about expressing themselves and what they want.
“I’d love to change the opportunities students have,” Hendrickson said. “I want a more open atmosphere where students can feel like they can come and get involved with events that we and the school are hosting. Allowing students to feel like they are actually apart of the school would make school much more enjoyable for them and everyone else around them.”
Next year, one of the main goals that Beyfuss hopes to accomplish is to make the KIND initiative bigger than ever before. The KIND initiative is put on each year by the Principal Advisory Council. The goal of this initiative is to promote kindness, positivity and fairness around the halls of LN.
“My main goal next year is to make sure KIND has an impact on everyone and represent LN in the best way,” Beyfuss said.
Sophomore Maya Caselnova wanted to be a class officer because she wants to see true changes in the halls of LN and believed that the way that she could see change happen was to become a class officer and help make sure change is executed.
“I wanted to be an officer because I have a true passion for the people at LN so I want to help improve the lives of everyone that attends LN,” Caselnova said.
Overall, the goal of next year’s class officers is to make sure that every student at LN truly has a voice and gets involved with events and fundraisers. Class officer Ismail Siddeeq wants every class officer and PAC member to leave a legacy for the students after each of them.
“I would like to leave a legacy for other class officers to attain to and achieve,” Siddeeq said.
