On March 7 at 7 p.m., LN junior Sophie Treend and LC junior Maia McIntosh will host an LN vs LC staff fundraiser basketball game.  Treend and McIntosh are both candidates for student of the year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. LLS is a organization that funds and raises money to go towards research for cancer. The student that raises the most money at the end is awarded student of the year.

The staffs from LN and LC will compete to raise money to go towards the LLS.

LN teacher Michael Mango, is ready for some friendly competition with LC. “I’m looking forward to beating LC and just really having fun raising money for the girls because they worked really hard to do this,” Mango said.

LN took the last title last year. The game will be located in the LN gym and costs $6 at the door. There will be halftime games, food and more surprises. Treend says that this will not only be fun, but it’s for a good cause.

“I feel so amazing to see both schools come together, in a fun way, for such a great cause,” Treend said.
