While the seniors are enjoying their last few days as Wildcats, there are also three faculty members who will be leaving LN for the last time next week as well. Art teacher Careth Flash, World Language teacher Manuel Vega and data specialist Mary Beth Rago will all retire at the end of this school year. They have all served LN for many years and are looking forward to the future.

Why are you choosing to retire now?
I think it’s time. Time is more precious. I would like to spend more time with my mom. My time with her would be more appreciated.
How long have you worked here?
I worked here for 25 years.
What is one of your favorite memories from your time at LN?
One thing I loved is graduation and seeing kids happy, seeing kids from 9th to now. And seeing the students’ struggles and successes. That’s always fulfilling because they got something out of our interaction.
What are you looking forward to in retirement?
Not waking up at 6 a.m. in the morning.
What words of wisdom or advice do you have before you leave?
To my fellow Educators, I would just keep working. It’s a difficult time but we have to keep positive and know you make a difference. Students, watch that social media and don’t get addicted. It’s going to interfere with your success.
